"G. I. Jive" radio show transcription disc. Two complete 15 minute radio programs on this 16 inch, vinyl, 33 1/3 rpm disc. This disc was issued to Armed Forces Radio Service stations for broadcast to U. S. troops overseas during the World War Two era and not available to the general public, very rare!
"G. I. Jive" radio program #1229 hosted by "G. I. Jill" who serves as disc jockey and plays records requested for U. S. Troops overseas. Records played include "Chop Chop" Lionel Hampton, "Baby What You Do To Me" Harry James, "Mysterioso" Artie Shaw, "Elmer's Tune" Glen Miller. 15 minutes
"G. I. Jive" radio program #1230 hosted by "G. I. Jill" who serves as disc jockey and plays records requested for U. S. Troops overseas. Records played include "Leap Frog" Les Brown, "Onesie Twosie" Phil Harris, "Cherry" Harry James, "Caldonia" Woody Herman. 15 minutes
Programs were meant to be broadcast to servicemen overseas, Excellent World War Two Era nostalgic broadcasts!
Disc is in Excellent Condition with Excellent Sound, Beautiful Disc!
Due to their size, 16 inch discs will not play on most standard turntables. I will include a CD dub of the disc for the buyer only
