GILA 'Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee' LP (Germany, Garden Of Delights, Catalogue #LP 010) Brand new/unplayed copy of limited vinyl edition (edition of 2000 copies only) of Garden Of Delights label LP issue of 1973 album "Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee" by German band Gila.

"After the break-up of the first Gila line-up and Conny Veit's move from Stuttgart to Munich, the latter founded a new band, retaining the old name. Instead of their former lengthy improvisations, their tracks were now tightly arranged. Their only album, Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee, which was inspired by Dee Brown's book of the same title and deals with the expulsion and extermination of native North Americans, features three American Indian lyrics (translated into English) and received good reviews without exception. The LP was released in 1973 on WEA/Warner Bros., while in 1995 a really bad bootleg CD was released by Germanofon, and in 2012 a bootleg LP on blue vinyl. On all these records the tracks are mistakenly in the wrong order. This has been corrected now. The vinyl re-issue is limited and numbered and comes with a four-page insert in LP size."

'After disbanding for some six months or so, and working as a member of Popol Vuh, Conny Veit decided to form a new incarnation of Gila. This new band was a veritable supergroup, as it featured Popol Vuh leader Florian Fricke and ex-Amon Duul II multi-instrumentalist Daniel Fichelscher. Although hinted at by the earlier Gila, the new Gila sound was very much in the Popol Vuh style, with medieval and ethnic touches in a complexly textured rock music featuring multi-guitars and female vocals. Whereas Popol Vuh were purely a studio band, Gila toured and played many concerts, and existed until summer 1974. After this Danny Fichelscher joined Popol Vuh, and Gila eventually split. Conny Veit then joined Guru Guru for a short while before disappearing from the scene for several years. He reappeared within the ranks of Popol Vuh some time later.
