RARE original “High Fidelity” ODEON/EMI Records, very first Mono press released in Chile in 1964, with yellow/black labels, made and distributed by Industraias Eléctricas Y Musicales Odeon S.A. (Odeon Records Chile), catalog number LDC-36472, with big boxed Odeon logo and small boxed EMI logo, with machine etched matrix numbers 2XLA 848-1 C (or “6”?) in Side A and 2XLA 849-1 C (or “6”?) in Side B. Yes, ANOTHER GREAT FIND FROM CHILE!!! AND WHAT A SUPERB CONDITION!!!

GILBERT BECAUD’S “ET MAINTENANT…” was released late 1963 and almost at the same time, early 1964, we got this great album released here in Chile, and like in most of the cases of the period we got and UNIQUE COVER!!! Yes, the cover is made of 2 single sheets of paper attached to a thin cardboard (not glued) and kept together for an outer plastic bag which’s also part of the cover. Front cover keeps the same artwork with title in French in both cover and labels with boxed Odeon and EMI logos at upper left corner and “Serie Estelar” (Stellar Serie) logo in lower right corner of back cover. Back cover is totally different, with a long review in Spanish about the career of Gilbert Bécaud and about this album. Tracklist is in French but translated to Spanish. In labels the tracklist is only in French. Yes Sirs, Gilber Bécaud singing at the Olympia!!! An UNIQUE COVER for this historical record of the French “chanson”!!!

The cover was already described and it’s in great EX- or EX condition both front and back cover, clear and clean, with no rips, writings or marks, only minimal wear. Plastic bag is in VG- condition, complete and clean but some past owner tried to repair some rip (I guess) with tape at the left edge and the tape is too evident but anyway the pastic bag is complete and in back cover it has only 2 rips that you can see in the pictures. Record is in VG or VG+ condition, it’s glossy and clean but with many hairlines and scuffs and some light scratches which don’t affect sound at all. Labels are in NM- or NM condition in both sides, clean and clear, with no marks, writings or wear at all. Sound is the best surprise, it’s in great VG+ or EX- condition both sides with no background noise at all (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), loud and clear, but with some light crackles here and there, most of songs play in EX+ or NM- condition!!! Overall a RARE record in still a GREAT condition with a nice cover and with an amazing sound quality in spite of the 48 years old!!! And, yes Sirs, WHAT A FIND!!!

Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

SHIPPING (Packing and Postage)

We have an unique value worldwide:

GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending of thickness of the vinyl)

GBP25 for weight 1-2kg (usually 3-5 records 12")

GBP7 for one 7” record

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.

FEEDBACK

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
