GILBERT BECAUD
“MOI, JE VEUX CHANTER”
(YO QUIERO CANTAR)
MEGARARE EMI Records very first Stereo press released by EMI Records, made and distributed by EMI Odeon Chilena S.A. (EMI Records Chile), licensed from Pathe Marconi - EMI, France, with traditional red/brown EMI Records labels, catalog number 5242, with hand etched matrix numbers C070-14856A in Side A and C070-14856B in Side B. It’s interesting to notice that in both back cover and labels it’s also informed the EMI catalog number 32c 064-14.856. Yes Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!!
“MOI, JE VEUX CHANTER” was originally released in 1980 in France and the same year we got it here in Chile, with an UNIQUE COVER. The cover is fully laminated and made of two single pieces of cardboard with front cover pasted on the flips of the back cover. Front cover keeps the original artwork with the photo of Gilbert Becaud and album title written in French only. Back cover is different, only black and white colored with album title written in French only and tracklist written in Spanish, translated to French, with full credits for songwriters. In labels, the album title is written in Spanish only, “YO QUIERO CANTAR”, and the tracklist is written in Spanish, translated to French, with full credits for songwriters. And like so many times in Chilean issues, in this album you can also see a print error, the song “El Caballo Azul”, correctly translated to French “Le Cheval Bleu”, is misspelled “LE CHEVAL BLUE” in label!!! So, here you have the chance to get this album by Gilbert Becaud with this UNIQUE COVER and UNIQUE ERROR. WOW!!! A MUST TO HAVE for all fans and collectors from Gilbert Becaud! And what a superb condition!!!
The cover was already described and it’s in great EX+ or NM- condition, no writings, only faint ring marks more evident in the back cover, no blemishes, no writings, no rips, only minimal wear in the edges and corners, with lamination still solid and complete. The record is in stunning NM or NM+ condition, glossy and clean, no scratches, no hairlines and not even scuffs, just like if the record had been opened today. Labels on both sides are in great NM or NM+ condition, clean and clear, just like new. The sound is the best part, it’s in superb NM- or even NM condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, no background noise(surface noise is normal in records from Chile), only some very light occasional crackles here and there, hard to hear if you are not looking for them and that, of course, don’t cause any distraction from the great sound this record keeps. Overall this is MEGARARE record with UNIQUE COVER, with a very nice glossy look, immaculate labels and amazing sound quality after 33 years to hear and enjoy from the beginning to the end!!! Yes Sirs, what a FIND!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels and cover in detail. WOW!!!
Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…
Thanks for watching and bidding, good luck and best regards from Chile
_________________________________________________________
We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.
MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.
NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.
EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

FEEDBACK
We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
IMPORTANT TO READ
