BAHIA / JOIN THE PARTY ... 7-inch, 45rpm single by GILLI POE CONSPIRACY production by GIANFRANCO REVERBERI music written by NINETY / KORDES / ARY BAROSSO etc. Original Italian pressing on TARGET label (TA 04), from 1971. Elusive Italian oddity, by a mysterious ghost group playing groovy psychedelia. Little known and for the uninitiated, historically sold as an Italian prog girl single with brutal guitar riffing. The music of JOIN THE PARTY has the trademark sound of Reverberi's Sharon Chatam studio projects. Looped drum break and peculiar percussion intro then buzzing guitars / hard glam piano and spiralling Portishead-sque basslines that sounds just like a theme from the Sharon Mahti Chatam's Fantasy Lp. There's another drum break - hip hop beats section, midway too. The BAHIA side is a Ninety - Underground Set style psych rock makeover of Ary Barosso's Brazilian standard. Lots of killer fuzz distortions / aggressive rhythms / unusual synth interludes et al. No idea who the female singer, Gilli(?) actually was, but no doubt a lounge / nightclub performer, judging by the slightly trashy vocal delivery. Tres cool missing link in the ever unfolding, Reverberi / Sharon Chatam / Psycheground / Ninety / Tickle label soundtrack / Radio Records Italian Library story. Seldom comes up for sale. Striking, sleeve artwork design too. Rare 45!!!

Vinyl is in shiny, strong VG+ condition with some hairlines and faint scuffs. Some light surface noises. Booming production sound. The soft card picture sleeve is in strong VG+ condition with ring creasing and corner / edge wear, in places. Rare 45!!! sonorizzazioni sonorizzazione
