Description
various -- Got My Goat 7"EP
Original 1981 UK private pressing on Thin Face Records (UK) (catalog # JIM-1, blank pink labels, one side has tracklisting pasted on and 33 ? RPM hand-written in, "LIMITED PRESSING 600" & "A PORKY PRIME CUT" in run-out grooves), in Picture Sleeve.Obscure and very rare UK DIY post-punk EP of pure genius from a mysterious bunch of inter-related bands who effortlessly glide from charming shambling off-kilter pop to abstract minimal synth to dark post-punk to noisy experimental clang. What most of the songs on here share, as opposed to other similar UK DIY EP's (like The Door And The Window) is a keen ability to write memorable unorthodox but incredibly catchy songs, with tremendous razor-sharp hooks and oblique but nowhere-near-pretentious lyrics.
Limited to 600 and only two copies have appeared on eBay before.
Tracks:
- A1 The Jimmy Nipper Five – Two Wasted Years A2 Earl Paul – Class Warfare A3 Brenda Smith – Woman B1 Islam O' Shea – Small Boats B2 Islam O' Shea – Whail Away B3 Bert Wills – The Wife In Earnest B4 Noise – Noise
grade only used if record is brand new.
