GRACIOUS! ~ Gracious 1970 UK Vertigo Swirl Progressive Psych Gem!

1970/UK/Vertigo Records 6360 002…here’s a Rare original UK pressing of their first lp. The textured gatefold cover is in VG to VG+ condition and is a bit dirty and has a few small stains, the inner gatefold is clean and the spine is clean and legible. The cover is solid with no splits. The vinyl is in glossy good to VG condition with several light scuffs/scratches, there are 2 tiny spots of gunk in the groves and it will probably clean out(I’ll leave it for the buyer). The record plays through with some light crackle/noise, more of course in the quieter spots. There are a couple of spots where you can hear approx. 7 or 8 light ticks where the gunk is. Good fidelity and no skips, sticks or jumps. Overall a decent copy to the right ears. I have recorded the whole record being offered. The sound has not been altered in any way. Don’t miss it! In 1969, Gracious toured Germany for six weeks. On their return from Germany, Gracious played the gig circuit in the UK and Brian Shepherd, then head of Vertigo Records, came to see them and offered them a record deal. The first album was recorded at Philips Records London studios near Marble Arch. Cowderoy recalled, "When we first went into the studio to record 'The Dream', we genuinely expected to record it in small segments. However our producer Hugh Murphy insisted we play it in one take in the studio, and do any overdubs afterwards... The first album, although less mature than the second, had more direction and was more focused.

GRADING

MINT: I consider only New Unplayed or Sealed items.

NM or M- or Mint Minus is the same to me, very clean with clean visual appearance and sound, there may be a couple of light inaudible hairline scuffs or such and will be mentioned in the listing, a Mint- record looks and plays clean. Same for the cover. Very clean with no delete or other issues.

EXCELLENT: still very collectable for most, visually and sonicly clean. A handful of light inaudible scuffs, or hairlines. Cover will be clean with little wear, or delete. No splits.

VG++ still a very nice copy with minimal wear, the vinyl will retain it's original gloss and can have a few minor scuffs/scratches that don't affect play very much. Cover will have slight shelf wear, and or delete, minor split.

VG+ the vinyl will still retain much original gloss with a bit more scuffs and/or scratches. If I list a rare or desirable item with a lower grade, I will try to list all defects.
