GRAND FUNK RAILROAD – Extremely RARE CLOSER TO HOME Press Kit!
Do not know how many exist but this is the only CTH Press Kit I have ever seen!
I knew Mark back when I was 16 and he was 17; Mark was in the Fabulous Pack and I played in a number of other bands.
The Press Kit is in VG++ condition; there is a name written on the back of the folder. The Press Kit contains the following:
1. Shiny folder showing the GFR Billboard in Times Square, New York.
2. Three 8x10 glossy promo photos of Mark, Don, & Mel:
a. Mark signed his promo photo after a concert at Seneca Niagara Casino, March 12, 2010 hence the 2K10 below his signature.
b. I will include the ticket stub shown in the photo.
3. Introduction letter written by Terry Knight: “searching to find a way to bring us all CLOSER TO HOME.”
4. FEATURE - Grand Funk Railroad - An Observation by Stu Ginsberg: “The members of Gran Funk, Mark Farner, Don Brewer, and Me Schacher, are all from Mid-America (Michigan). But their music is of all of us, of their people, of the young.”
5. NEWS – Grand Funk Railroad – An Interview by Jared Johnson: “MARK: With just three pieces, if I played without distortion and feedback, it wouldn’t be as effective.”
6. FEATURE: “Grand Funk Railroad started out as an opening act at the Atlanta Popp Festival. They played for free.”
