GRATEFUL DEAD “Aoxomoxoa” 1969 1st Day Of Release White Label Promo Vinyl EX

From the Time Machine! A first day of release white label promo of “Aoxomoxoa” that was serviced to the early FM rock stations. The vinyl still looks shiny, with no noticeable marks. The cover has some shelf wear, with some rubbing but totally intact with no losses. The white label “Promotion Not For Sale” has Warner Bros.- Seven Arts Records as the record label. A short lived name for Warner Bros. guaranteeing that this copy is the 1969 release, and not the remix that was done in 1971. The original mix is more experimental and “psychedelic”. The inner sleeve is a generic b/w printed paper sleeve with Warner Bros. - Seven Arts releases depicted. There is a small seam split on the bottom, but the paper is intact. This rare promo in this condition is a find…

The third studio recording by the Dead, released in 1969. It also has for the first time Robert Hunter as full-time lyricist and band collaborator. This was the start of the Garcia/ Hunter songwriting partnership. Here is where you can find studio versions of “St. Stephen”, “Dupree’s Diamond Blues”, “China Cat Sunflower” “Cosmic Charlie” and more. For the Dead collector, a white label, first press promo of the “Aoxomoxoa” original release is a rare find, and something to get when available.

Photos are of actual copy for sale.
