Extremely rare 1971 LP on the Vertigo swirl/spiral label 6360 051. Let me start by saying I believe this LP is in VG condition overall, the sleeve is slightly better than that and the vinyl - well, you can make your own mind up based on my description.
The added bonus with this copy is that it is signed by band members at the time - Norman Barrett, John Hughes and Les Williams - plus other band members at another time - George Lynon, Russ Caldwell and a sixth signature which looks like "T.Downes". Any help you can give me on these signatures would be appreciated - I did not get them myself but have no reason to doubt their authenticity.
And so to condition, the vinyl has some light marks, not many and they are in no way deep. When played there is some hiss at the start of each side and occasional surface noise between tracks but the initial noise soon disappears and would probably disappear altogether with a proper clean. The disc is slightly warped such that when you play side 2 there is an up-and-down motion of the stylus BUT there is no effect on play - which I repeat is damn fine after the start. I believe this rates a VG rating - others would rate higher for the sound reproduction - I want to advise all and any problems. The B side label has a few small stain marks. The swirl inner sleeve rates VG+ with a little discolouring to the opening. The gatefold laminated sleeve rates VG+ I reckon with a little laminate creasing to top left corner and a few other small creases but absolutely no marks other than the signatures.
In summary, not the best copy around but extremely listenable, the sleeve is fine and the signatures are a bonus plus there aren't many to go around.
