Description
THE GREEN BEANS-45-“Knock On My Door” b/w “Who Needs You”-Tower Records #237-DJ Issue-Kilerkool 1966 Los Angeles CALIFORNIA Garage-Punk-Produced by West Coast icon/Legend Mike Curb (A side penned by him). Most of you know this from assorted comps over the decades, HIGHS IN THE MID-60’S in particular…If not, A side is fuzz guitar dominated with a Fender-reverbed accompanying-structure loosly based on the Searchers’ “Sweets For My Sweet” with Mindbenders’ “Game Of Love” overtones. B side is a great dual guitar driving punker clocking in at the shortest time of 1:30!! Like a lightning bolt! I usually play this 3 times in a row to get the vibe! Killer track-fast & furious. Fast & furious lead break too. These guys paraded around with dyed green hair-sort of looked like the Hondells with green hair! I think Cleveland’s Grasshoppers beat them to the punch in ’64…No-does NOT have the boss pic sleeve-this come with a stock Tower Records sleeve (see photo). Great record.
Condition: Record is literally unplayed; A side is close to MINT-Minus, B side would be but has 4 or 5 surface scratches which are obvious in certain light angles; plays fine, scratches are superficial. Has a small and slight warp. Some obvious background noise on B side at times.
Label clean on A side, date, radio station ID and initials in ink on B side label (see photo).
