THIRD album from this highly respected and much loved British progressive rock band. Try as they might, the band were unable to break out of the second division prog rock league and with the impending rise in popularity of pub rock Greenslade found themselves, like so many others, the victims of emerging trends.

Despite the continued excellence of their musical output, and god knows  'Spyglass Guest' was as good as any thing else that they recorded, there is a sense that the band were fighting a losing battle. In fact if you examine the content closely you'll notice a slight tilt towards a melodic centre ground. 

'Time And Tide' is, however, no compromise. It harbours solid and stolid heavy prog rock defying the critics and delighting their loyal core fan following. For me, Greenslade reigned supreme over the likes of coy competitors such as Camel, Caravan and Gentle Giant because they were way more aggressive than their counterparts and far less afraid to turn up the volume. This album, I'm glad to report, takes no prisoners.

Vinyl: Super clean condition. No spindle marks on label and no other signs of use whatsoever. Grades as MINT!

Cover: Issued in a beautiful fully laminated gatefold cover. Again, no signs of use. Sharp corners, no dings, no bends, no ring wear, no spit seams and no creases. Slight cover curl bottom right. Stiff uncrushed spine.  Beautiful and impossible to find like this 49 years after release. Looks like it walked out of the factory yesterday. Grades as stone MINT!
