Description
Available here is a 12” vinyl LP by Greenslade - Spyglass Guest. In this instance, it’s a rare white label test pressing. No official outer sleeve or artwork is present, simply a plain white, poly-lined inner cover, together with an added card white sleeve and polythene outer. Official release for this UK Warner Brothers record was 1974, with the catalogue number K 56055. I believe that the track order is as per the official release.
Identifiers - The record has the following matrix marks, pressed into the centre of both sides -
Matrix / Runout - Side A - Stamped - K 56055 A1 - Etched - MELYS.
Matrix / Runout - Side B - Stamped - K 56055 B1 - Etched - MELYS.
Vinyl Condition - Visual Appearance = Excellent / Sound Quality = Very Good
Visually, the record is very bright and clean and you’ll have to look very close to find any sort of mark. I’ve listened to both sides and can confirm that there are no jumps or sticking but with a few light clicks apparent. Background crackle/noise is sporadic and generally low-level when heard, although also dependent on the volume of compositions. I’ve given the record a cursory clean but suspect that the sound quality may well improve further with a little more dedicated attention.
