GROUNDHOGS Thank Christ For The Bomb 1970 LIBERTY 1st UK PRESS Matrix A1/B1 RARE
This record has been vacuum machine cleaned and test played in full on quality hi-fi. My grading is based on the UK record collector grading system. I will gladly combine postage on multiple items so check out my other records. Thanks
Very rare 1970 1st UK pressing of this brilliant album by the Groundhogs. Cat No. LBS83295 on the original 1st press blue Liberty label. Record comes in the original textured gatefold sleeve printed by EJ Day. Record matrix numbers are very 1st UK press A1/B1Vinyl Condition:- Visually VG but sounds VG++ or near EX. There is some bloom (dulling) on Side One caused by the inner sleeve's contact with the vinyl but this has very little effect on sound quality. Side One plays with very nice sound quality, theres some very light, low level background surface noise but this is only audible where there's no music at all i.e between tracks. Side two is similar but can be heard on only the very quiet parts of the music and these are few and far between This record has been fully test played before this auction on Rega RP3 deck, Rogers E40a valve amp and Quad ESL 57 Electrostatics
Sleeve Condition:- .VG+ Virtually no wear and a nice crisp fully readabe spine. There are some numbers handwritten in pen on the back and inside the gatefold hence why I graded VG+ rather than the EX it would have been without these.
Label Condition:- VG++ Some light spindle marks
This record seldom comes up for sale. Don't miss your chance!
I always reduce postage on multiple items. Each additional item will only be charged 50% the original postage cost worldwide. Check out my other rare vinyls!
ALL MY ITEMS ARE REFUNDABLE ON RETURN IF YOU ARE NOT ENTIRELY HAPPY WITH YOUR ITEM
Grading Abbreviations
Grading below is as stated from UK Record Collector. I also use +/- for records that fall somewhere between a grade
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
