?? NOTA IMPORTANTE / IMPORTANT NOTE ??

ENG: The SALES TAX paid at checkout DOES NOT COVER import duties/tariffs; these are two separate charges. We provide this clarification due to multiple claims from buyers unfamiliar with new U.S. trade regulations. These are not hidden fees; eBay explicitly alerts buyers that international purchases are subject to import charges.

At WorldBeat Records Mexico, we appreciate your passion for music. While many of our regular collectors are fully aware of international import fees, we understand that some buyers may be new to these requirements under the 2026 trade laws.

GOVERNMENT FEES: Please note that any import duties or tariffs are solely the buyer's legal responsibility. These charges are entirely external to us; we do not receive, collect, or profit from these government payments.

• Government Authority: Amounts are determined strictly by a U.S. Government Customs Agent. We have no control over their assessment.
• Professional Transparency: We understand these costs can be frustrating, but they are mandatory legal requirements.
• Commitment: To ensure a smooth transaction, please read the full description before bidding.

Mexican Psychedelic Rock Special Auction

COLLECTOR'S PIECES & SOUGHT-AFTER GEMS!

I. 🌟 Pioneers of the Mexican Cumbia Movement Founded in Mexico City during the late 1970s by the visionary producer Oscar Mejia, Discos Room stands as one of the definitive cornerstones of the Mexican Cumbia sound. Alongside industry icons like Poncho Zamudio (Discos Dancing), Oscar Mejia was a pioneer in recording and promoting domestic tropical talent. This collaborative effort ignited a powerful musical movement that bridges generations and global borders, fiercely sought after by DJs and vinyl curators from the United States to Argentina, Europe, and Asia.

II. 🎹 A Catalog of Sonidero Heavyweights Discos Room became a powerhouse by capturing the raw, hypnotic energy of the streets and the Sonidos. The label's roster boasting legendary names and rare cult outfits that defined the genre, including:

• Los Cantaritos del Ritmo and El Niño Silverio Curiel

• Los Condors (featuring the legendary greñuda cumbiambera, Anita)

• Organización Bohío (responsible for the monster hit "La Segunda de Embrujo de Cumbia")

• Los Templarios, Los Cogors, Güera Show, Sonora Señorial, and Grupo Curramba.

III. 🏆 Cultural Impact and Industry Leadership Oscar Mejia was not only a prolific studio producer but also an industry trailblazer. He was a pioneer in creating formal award ceremonies to honor Sonidos (sound systems) and local record vendors, recognizing their immense contribution to the massive retail success of Discos Room.

IV. 🖤 In Loving Memory With the recent passing of Mr. Oscar Mejia, the global vinyl community has lost a titan of tropical music distribution and a true guardian of cultural heritage. Having had the immense privilege of knowing him personally for over 25 years, Worldbeat Records Mexico presents this rare 1994 original pressing of Grupo Curramba - A Mi Barrio as a sincere tribute to a legendary music producer and a profoundly missed friend.

This specific album is a masterpiece of Space Cumbia / Cumbia Incaica, blending traditional heavy percussion with lysergic synthesizer grooves that are heavily championed by Cumbia La Changa. Finding an original 90s Discos Room LP in pristine Excellent (EX) condition is an extreme rarity. An absolute holy grail for international selectors.
