Description

Here's one of the absolute best from the prolific and gifted lo-fi/indie-rock Gods Guided By Voices, led by Bob Pollard, who seemingly leads a billion bands both real and imagined but none as famous as GBV, the Dayton, Ohio outfit that broke through with the critical smashes "Propeller," "Bee Thousand," "Alien Lanes," (this one!) "Under The Bushes Under The Stars" and more! This fine LP has been in our collection since it was purchased when it first hit record stores  (remember those?) back in 1995. It quickly went out of print on vinyl -- and only received the reissue treatment years later after being regarded as one of the most important, and best, indie-rock albums of the '90s -- but there's your chance to own the original edition. We've been GBV fans for 20+ years and have always thought it to be the equal of the ground-breaking "Bee Thousand" when it comes to pop hooks, infectious melody, and some of the best writing and singing Bob has ever put to tape. This is GBV at the peak of their considerable powers. If you have a gap in your GBV collection, now is the time to grab this beauty! This is our second, once or twice-played copy and both the record and cover are in pristine, excellent condition (see our pics of the actual LP you are bidding on). It was immediately placed inside a protective plastic sleeve, where it has remained for 21 years. Please check out our other GBV-related auctions and keep an eye out for more GBV-related rarities and goodies we will be listing shortly. Thanks for looking! Check out our feedback -- we have been record collectors ourselves for 35 years and only sell what we ourselves would (and did) buy! We've been buying and selling rare and desirable records and rare, collectible CDs online for over 10 years with 100% positive feedback because we care about a great record-buying and selling experience, and about building trust and providing quality collectibles like this to like minded music folks. ALERT TO BIDDERS RE: SHIPPING COST: It's come to my attention from several interested watchers that this listing has a $16+ S&H fee attached for domestic shipping -- this is INCORRECT!  I do NOT know why this sum is appearing, since it does not appear on my listing ($7.35 is what I see right now on this page and have listed for USPS Priority with tracking for a well-packed and securely mailed LP in professional stiff mailer). Obviously, international shipping will be more (but again, ONLY what it costs with NO inflated 'handling' charges). Please disregard the weirdly inflated number ebay apparently has included. I am going to find out what has happened, and I apologize to all for the inconvenience or confusion this may have caused. Please, don't worry (check our feedback as sellers for over 10 years). We can ship this Priority or Media Mail if you wish...just wait for an invoice before you pay! And again, there are NO bogus 'handling' fees -- we only charge actual shipping cost, and if there's a small discrepancy where we can send your LP for a little less, we'll refund you the difference! Good luck bidding and A Salty Salute to you all!
