Guns N' Roses had been quiet for a while after releasing and touring off the world beating debut LP "Appetite For Destruction". They hurriedly recorded "Lies", an LP half made up of new material but also tried and tested cover songs played in their live sets. This LP was a reaction to the phenomenal success of their debut but didn't really get the same reaction. The years seemed to crawl past while we waited for a new LP of material, and then, Two, double LPs worth of new songs and a wealth of new classics. "Use Your Illusion II" gave us "You Could Be Mine", "Civil War", "Estranged", "Don't Cry", "November Rain", "Pretty Tied Up" and the bands reworking of the classic "Knockin' On Heavens Door". This truly was Heaven for us fans ! Having seen Guns N' Roses play Newcastle City Hall on the Appetite tour I was looking forward to catching up with them at Gateshead International Stadium on the "Illusion" tour of '93/ '94. After a scorching afternoon in the "rare" North Eastern sun finally Guns N' Roses took to the stage, took it by the throat, shook it up and spat it out !! One of the best live shows I have ever been to. This double LP is in great condition as I hope the photos show, it is an original 1991 German pressing. The only down side to it is the tape just to the left of the barcode on the back cover. No reason for it and it doesn't detract from the rest of the package !?
