GUY SKORNIK – Pour Pauwels. Lion Productions LION LP 134. FACTORY SEALED NEW VINYL RECORD ALBUM, includes extra copy of record disc, read on for details. NOTE:  There is a light bend mark near the LLC; this is as it was received. Originally issued in 1971 on EMI Pathe. This edition issued in 2014 in cooperation with Martyrs Of Pop. Limited edition of 500 copies. Pressed on 180gram vinyl and comes with a four panel informative insert. This copy comes with a second copy of the record album disc in a plain white sleeve (no jacket) along with the sealed copy of this album, both have been placed inside of a single clear mylar resealable outer sleeve, as shipped by the label (at no additional increase to the selling price, as I wasn’t charged more, though international shipping charges will be slightly higher due to the weight increase). I suspect there was an overrun on the disc’s pressing and due to the licensing agreement for a strict 500 copy run (and lack of jackets to put them in) the label decided to give away the extra discs. Consider it a bonus! DESCRIPTION:  Skornik was a mystic explorer, psychonaut, and gifted musician, who was immersed in the metaphysical revolutions of his time. He presented television reports, laced with elements of Eastern mysticism, on LSD experiences. Between 1970 and 1973, EMI/Pathé released several ambitious and progressive pop albums:  La Mort D’Orion (Gérard Manset), Puzzle (Michel Berger), Hathor (Igor Wakévitch). And then there was Skornik's incredible album, Pour Pauwells, inspired by the revolutionary writings of Louis Pauwells (famously namechecked by Gainsbourg in his classic Initials B.B.), a one-time counterculture hero and disciple of esoteric spiritualist G. I. Gurdjieff. The result is a timeless blend of lush orchestration, searing psych-rock, baroque melodies, and deep funk fluidity.

Guy Skornik was a key member of François Wertheimer's Popera Cosmic collective. The arrangements were done by Ivan Jullien (Françoise Hardy, Johnny Hallyday, Quincy Jones, & Elton John). Licensed from Parlophone of France, now A Warner Music Group Company. Limited to 500 copies.

All LPs are removed from their jackets and placed outside of the jacket for shipping. If an album comes sealed (and will be noted as such in the above description), it will be shipped whole unless you request that I open it up to place the disc outside of the jacket for shipping. Both jacket and disc are placed inside of an outer plastic sleeve before packing for shipping. I use professional corrugated record mailers.
