PLEASE NOTE: I WILL ONLY GRADE AN OPENED LP NEAR MINT (NM) IF I CAN GUARANTEE IT HAS NEVER BEEN PLAYED (i.e. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER).  OTHERWISE, NEAR MINT MINUS (NM-) IS THE ABSOLUTE HIGHEST GRADE I WILL ASSIGN AN OPENED LP.

A beat digger's dream come true.  Not only is this LP off-the-charts rare (absolutely ZERO Google hits) it contains an absolute MONSTER break!  I have contacted every trusted hardcore funk/Latin/break collector I know to find out anything about this LP and no one had ever even heard of it before.  No one.  I sent them a few sound clips and the trade offers came pouring in, just as I had anticipated.   Pressed in Mexico on the hit label (zero Google hits as well, natch) presumably around the late 70s when both these Travolta scores were hot.   Side A is The Garabato Group Sound taking on the Saturday Night Fever/Fiebre De Sabado Por La Noche soundtrack and side B is their take on Grease/Vaselina.  With not so much as a single entry in the massive, sprawling Discogs database, exactly who Garabato Group Sound were remains a complete mystery.  Anyone with ANY information on this LP please get in touch as I would like to provide at least a speck of background on this album.  I have been collecting rare LPs for 40+ years and NEVER seen this one before.  Most likely a private pressing as Night Fever is quaintly misspelled as Nigth Fever on the front cover (see photo 2).  The cover, however, is also the one thing that keeps me doubting its private press status.  Misspelling aside, most covers of privately pressed LPs are not this elaborate, colorful and well laid out.  Definitely a head scratcher, this one.  One thing is certain though.  The drum break at around the 2:44 mark on the track Vaselina would make any beat digger drool.  The intro to Jive Talkin is just begging to be nicked as well.  I have posted three songs from the LP in their entirety on Soundcloud at https://soundcloud.com/user-536209246/garabato-group-sound-night-fever, https://soundcloud.com/user-536209246/garabato-group-sound-jive-talkin and https://soundcloud.com/user-536209246/garabato-group-sound-grease-vaselina.  LP is a nice VG+, close to VG++, with a small scratch on Night Fever that can be lightly felt.  Cover has a small fray spot on the tips of a few corners and, amazingly, is still in the original shrink wrap!!  A VERY nice copy of this insanely rare LP
