The Swamp Rats were a short-lived influential qarage rock anc proto-punk band from McKeesport, Pennsylvania. They were known for their cover versions of popular songs, and "No Friend of Mine" is a cover of The Sparkles' original song. The St. Clair label was a small. locak ndependent label that released the band's first four singles, which hac limited circulation at the time. The band gained siqnificant collector interest vears later due to the rarity of these releases and their influential sound.
