  For sale is Gavin Bryar's The Sinking of the Titanic, released in 1975. It was produced by Brian Eno and released on his record label, Obscure Records. The story goes that when the Titanic was sinking, the house band kept playing to calm the people who were destined to die, according to survivors. On this record you can hear the last song that was played on the way to the bottom of the ocean, A very haunting recording, but at the same time inspiring for the bravery of this doomed band. This is the first printing on Island Records with the matrix  numbers A-1/B-1 in the dead wax, signifying the first stamper was used to make this first edition, sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound quality. This is probably the rarest record of the Ambient series. I bought this record new and immediately put it in a protective inner sleeve, thus protecting the vinyl. I've graded the jacket as VG+, because it has some ring wear and edge rubs. The record is graded as Near Mint Minus because of faint sleeve marks that do not affect playback. This is the best copy of this very rare album that I have ever seen or heard. You would be hard pressed to find a first edition in this condition ever again.
