Description
Yellow label, deep groove with 446 W. 50th St. N.Y.C. address on both sides of the label. 2 tracks with leader, Gene Ammons, tenor sax; Lou Donaldson, alto sax; Art Farmer, trumpet; Addison Farmer, bass; Freddie Redd, piano; Kenny Clarke, drums.
Cover: Fair Aging masking tape repair on all 3 sides. The tape has become semi transparent from age and most of the text can be easily read through the tape. Some light aging and light wear on both sides.
Record: VG++ Side A, "Juggernaut", 3 clicks at the beginning of the Track. Followed by several light clicks and 3 or 4 isolated light clicks. There are 2 clicks followed by 1 light click during Donaldson's solo. 1 light click and 1 more audible click during Farmer's solo. 1 click during Redd's solo and a light click during Ammon's solo followed by 2 clicks near the end of the Track and 2 clicks at the end of the Track.
Side B, "Woofin' and Tweetin'", has 2 light clicks during the piano intro, 1 click during Donaldson's solo. 1 faint click during Farmer's solo followed by a 2nd light click. The solo ends with 1 additional light click followed by 2 faint clicks and a short light crackle. 1 faint click at the beginning of Redd's solo with slight, barely audible groove noise for 2 or 3 revolutions and 1 click. There are 2 clicks at the end of the Track. I have detailed the slight noise which is random. In general the sound is excellent particularly for this early 10" LP. Audibly checked.
