This album is an original LP vinyl pressing, not a vinyl reissue
This album was released in 1971 on Blue Note / United Artists Records. It’s a stereo pressing.
This album marks the transitional point when Gene Harris stepped out into his own from a band leader to solo artist. It’s odd that the album is named after the combo he was in for many years. That said, this album rules! Lots of great funky grooves and drum breaks here. Perfect for playing as-is or sampling (and this one has been sampled a bit already). The cover of The Beatles “Elenanor Rigby” is unlike any arrangement I’ve heard of this song. It was recently re-released as a limited edition CD by Dusty Groove, but this original pressing sounds amazing.
The LP and it’s sleeve are being graded separately.
This LP is in near mint condition (NM) and conservatively graded a 9.1 out of 10. The LP itself is immaculate and shiny.
The sleeve is in ex condition (EX) and conservatively graded as 8 out of 10. There are some very minor scuffs and marks here-and-there on the back of the sleeve. One would have to go out of their way to look for them. Most noticeably, is the promotional cut on the upper left hand corner of the sleeve.
It has been stored in a climate-controlled, smoke-free environment away from sunlight.

Vinyl grading is usually based on the Goldmine standard and is as follows:
“SS” Still Sealed – For the collector that demands nothing but perfection.
“M” Mint - a near perfect, or unplayed record.
“NM” Near Mint - in factory fresh condition, like new.
EX+ - close to like new with only superficial signs of use that don't affect play. Will satisfy all but the most vain and demanding collector.
EX - a used, reasonable copy. Shows slight signs of wear.
VG+ - There will be obvious signs of wear and the possibility a few skuffs and/or light surface noise between tracks or during quiet passages, but still quite nice.
VG - significant wear and marks and usually quite noticeable surface noise,still plays great.
Good - In the record world, "Good" is not good! From here on down, we're talking about beat-up records!
