Description

GENE VINCENT - Say, Mama/Be bop, boogie boy            Capitol CL 14974           with Company sleeve          CONDITION:    EX Another slice of rock 'n' roll from Gene, perhaps the best rocker of the late 50's to visit our shores. What a great pity that he was badly injured in the same car crash that killed Eddie Cochran, and that he should then suffer ill-health for the next ten years before dying of a ruptured stomach ulcer. This man was rock and roll personified.
Listed by Record Collector Price Guides at £30.00, this record is priced by me at only £16.95.

IMPORTANT POSTAGE NOTICE - I am partially disabled and unable to walk far without assistance. That restricts my trips to the Post Office and so I only post when I have a friend available to assist - so reckon on every 7 to 10 days. If you are in a rush to receive the item, I will do my best but offer no guarantees. Despite what EBAY says, the carrier (i.e. the Post Office or courier firm) is responsible for the loss in transit of correctly paid for and addressed mail items and NOT the seller. That is UK law. Therefore, I will assist wherever possible, but even if you, the customer, pays considerably extra cost for Special Delivery, ultimate traceability still rests with the carrier, and even then is not certain, despite their in-place systems for doing so. If I have a second copy of an item, we can work something out, but I cannot refund lost items and if you buy an item from me, you must accept that.
WHO AM I?
HonestDave'sRecords has been successfully selling 1950's and 1960's singles and LP's at record fairs for nearly 40 years and on Ebay for 7 years. In fact I handle anything between 1955 and 1972, from any number of fields including: Pop, Beat, Soul, Northern Soul, Tamla Motown, Reggae, Instrumentals, Solo Girls and Boys and Girl Groups. If you want to see who you are dealing with, go to my details page, where my photo and stall, complete with wheelchair are set out as at VIP London Musicmania Fair 2013. Just click on the mE button adjacent to my user name above. I started a major stock check but have since abandoned that due to the inordinate time is was taking, so although I have tried, I cannot send out lists. Therefore if you have a specific requirement, you will find in this section, the means to get hold of me. If I have it, I will load it for you. At any one time I will have between five and eight thousand (5,000-8,000) singles and EP's and about a hundred (100) of so of the best LP's. My range is pop, instrumental, beat, girl groups and soloists, straight soul and northern soul from under £2.00 through hundreds of £5.00 - £15.00 great tunes, to £100.00 - £500.00 slices of Oriole, Fontana and Tamla Motown, of which  have about 800 discs. Most will be UK issues although a few will be American or foreign and will say so if I notice; most will have the original or an exact replica of the company sleeve it was issued in. I cannot guarantee the correct sleeve but will supply one if requested to and if I have it. Spares of these are available (most types) at 40p each post free. Almost all my records will have the original centre intact - a very few desirable ones may be sold with the centre punched out.
My lowest sales category is Very Good although only a few will actually be found listed as low as that. I try to ensure that all items should be in Very Good Plus, Excellent or Near Mint condition as defined by Record Collector Price Guides. I never use the condition Mint as it cannot be proved to my satisfaction. However, buyers should realise that there is always the odd disc that slips through the quality control net when you deal in the numbers I do, so you may get a rough copy. Don't make a fuss and you'll get all your money back. Sometimes the disc will look superb and play rotten - don't forget that even in 1965, duff copies came off the production line and these could still be out there.
If you should find any of my records are not as described, don't rush to leave negative feedback or poor marks on my seller ratings - I hate this system and it achieves nothing, despite what Ebay may think. It causes only bad feeling and solves nothing! Honest Dave offers a 100% money back, including all postage costs guarantee to any unsatisfied buyer. I will NOT require the item back - if it isn't any good to you, then it certainly isn't going to be for me so please dispose of it responsibly at your end.
