Genesis Calling All Stations original 1997 album, GENLP6, 2x vinyl lp, rare
This is the rare and sought-after 1997 album Calling All Stations by Genesis, originally released in 1997 by Virgin Records, catalog number GENLP6. This is the original UK release of the album from September 1997, which features a glossy gatefold sleeve and 11 songs over three sides of vinyl (the fourth side is an etching of the three core members Mike Rutherford, Tony Banks, Ray Wilson). The album has a darker and more serious tone, since Phil Collins left the band prior to its conception. The full track listing is as follows:
Calling All Stations (5m46s)
Congo (4m52s)
Shipwrecked (4m24s)
Alien Afternoon (7m52s)
Not About Us (4m39s)
If That's What You Need (5m13s)
The Dividing Line (7m46s)
Uncertain Weather (5m30s)
Small Talk (5m03s)
There Must Be Some Other Way (7m55s)
One Man's Fool (8m46s)
The details of this pressing can be found on the discogs.com site, see link [1] below. Reviews and background info on the album can be found at the allmusic.com website, see link [2] and the album's wikipedia entry, see link [3].
Using the discogs.com Guide To Vinyl Record Grades (link [4]), the album is graded as follows:
Vinyl: VG+ (borderline NM-)
The LP sits flat and plays cleanly throughout. There are no significant clicks, jumps or pops during playback that adversely affects the listening experience, except a single click on start of final track which prevents NM- grading. Playback was tested on a UK domestic turntable prior to listing.
Sleeve/Label: VG+
Very slight scuffing to sleeve, small mark to gloss finish in top right where original price tag was removed. Minimal ringwear, barely visible. Otherwise sleeve in great condition, still has its glossy sheen.
Further photos are available on request. All items listed here have been stored upright, away from light, heat, strong odours, smoke, damp and anything else that might adversely affect the product, and kept in a pet- and smoke-free home.
Items will be packaged in a rigid cardboard envelope similar to those used by Amazon for posting vinyl.
Postage: postage to a UK address by Royal Mail's Tracked 48 service. For overseas buyers, I will use the most appropriate tracked/signed for service for your address, I have estimated the cost for this listing so please contact me before the auction end for an accurate postage quote for your location.
