LP a copertina non apribile. Rarissima 1° stampa, pressata da King Record, su vinile di grande qualità, stampato su etichetta London, appartenente alla serie “Treasury Of British Rock”, con un inserto di 2 pagine, riportante note biografiche e testi in giapponese e ulteriore inserto di 2 pagine con i testi in inglese. Larga Obi a colori a sfondo rosso, riportante il prezzo di yen 1.800. I Genesis sono un gruppo rock britannico, cresciuto ed affermatosi all'interno del vasto movimento del rock progressivo. Sono da molti considerati una delle band più importanti e innovative della storia del rock. Durante la loro carriera, hanno venduto più di 150 milioni di dischi in tutto il mondo, inserendosi nella lista dei trenta artisti di maggior successo commerciale di tutti i tempi. Nel corso della propria storia il gruppo ha subito diversi cambiamenti di formazione, mantenendo tuttavia inalterata la presenza di Tony Banks (alle tastiere) e Mike Rutherford (alle chitarre). Le formazioni più celebri e riconosciute sono due: la prima, quella dell'affermazione negli anni settanta, comprendeva Phil Collins, Mike Rutherford, Tony Banks, Steve Hackett e Peter Gabriel; la seconda, quella degli anni ottanta e novanta, Phil Collins, Mike Rutherford e Tony Banks, con il costante supporto, durante i live, di Daryl Stuermer (chitarra elettrica e basso) e Chester Thompson (batteria e percussioni), che tuttavia non divennero mai membri ufficiali del gruppo. Quest'ultima formazione è anche la più longeva e quella che ha ottenuto il maggior successo commerciale. Nel corso del tempo hanno poi fatto parte della band molti musicisti provenienti da diverse esperienze musicali. Abili esecutori e compositori, i Genesis vantano anche una larga produzione di materiale dal vivo, testimoniata da numerosi album live, sia ufficiali che bootleg. From Genesis to Revelation (1969) è il primo album in studio dei Genesis. È stato pubblicato anche con il titolo In the Beginning e inciso per la Decca. Le liriche un po' pretenziose e la struttura musicale ancora incerta non ne fanno il loro album più riuscito. Il sound risulta fortemente influenzato dai Moody blues, gruppo che andava per la maggiore all'epoca, e perciò le composizioni, in confronto a quelle di alcuni anni dopo, sono molto semplici e orecchiabili; tuttavia non mancano brani degni di nota come, ad esempio, The silent sun e Where the sour turns to sweet, che denotano già una buona maturità musicale considerando, anzitutto, l'età giovanissima dei musicisti, poco più che diciottenni. L'album, nelle intenzioni, doveva essere una sorta di concept a sfondo religioso. Pur sviata dalla produzione (che impone pesanti arrangiamenti orchestrali), dell'idea originale restano numerosi riferimenti biblici (soprattutto in In the beginning, The serpent, In the wilderness e The conqueror).

The album, in intention, was to be a sort of concept with a religious background. Though diverted from production (which requires heavy orchestral arrangements), the original idea are numerous biblical references (especially in the beginning, the Serpent, In the Wilderness "and" The Conqueror).
