Description
Charisma - CAS 1052 - pink scroll label
Genesis are now such a massive band that it's difficult to conceive that there was a time when they were more or less unknown. In 1971 when they issued this, their third album, they were a struggling progressive band and just beginning to find their way artistically.
This album has Peter Gabriel as frontman and was the first of their albums to feature Phil Collins on drums.
It's difficult to explain just how rare this album is as an original scroll label issue. It sold pitiful amounts at the time, although it did much better when it was reissued following their later success, but those copies are on the "hatter" or "blue"label. Original copies on the scroll label are like the proverbial hens teeth.
The matrix numbers are CAS 1052A-1U & CAS 1052 B 2U.
The cover is the textured E.J.Day gatefold and it has a little ringwear, most noticeable on the back. The disc has some light surface marks but plays a solid EX with only an occasional bit of passive noise. It really is a very playable & very enjoyable copy.
The label on the A side has a small stain/mark but it is away from the label information and is not particularly noticeable.
A good chance to obtain a stunningly rare & great album by one of the all time great progressive bands.
Happy to answer any questions you may have and also happy to ship anywhere on the planet - recorded/insured air mail only (it's a really rare album and we don't want it to go astray!) - and would prefer payment via Paypal.
