Description
This is the harder to come by 2016 reissue of the 2007 remixed Lamb Lies Down 2LP. It uses the same plates as the 2013 reissue pressed at Optimal but comes in a slightly different jacket which is more pure of white colour and has minor differences to the graphics and printed inner sleeves. The matrices are ever so slightly different for this variant too to help identify this as the 2016 issue.
This copy has been owned by myself since new as a backup to my 2013 issue but i am starting to sell off my collection and the backups are going to be the first to go! I have carefully opened the shrink and inspected the LPs before putting each one through a full Degritter ultrasonic deep wash. Both discs present flat, centered and pristine. I gave the album a playthrough and it is close to silent of playback throughout with just a hint of minor noise on side 4 at the end of Ravine in the quieter moments. It really is a superbly clean and quiet copy, in part thanks to the Degritting and i am confident you wont find better although systems do vary in this respect and i dont use anything less than microline tipped carts now... distortion be damned!
The gatefold jacket and original printed inners are totally mint, totally unmarked and as new, remaining in the factory shrinkwrap. The only downside is a lack of poly lining so to preserve the records i have provided mofi style rice paper sleeves that handily fit perfectly in the originals.
All said then, i think this copy is close to perfect and with the cleaning and sleeve upgrades and single playtest it truly presents "better than new".
Thanks for looking!!
