Genesis Trespass pink scroll original pressing. VG+ Superb sound.

Incredibly rare UK original pressing of Genesis' second album (the first on Charisma) Trespass.
Pink label copies of this rarely come up for sale and fetch high prices when they do.  there is good reason for this.  The pink label Charismas (pressed in 1970/71) sound much more dynamic, solid, clearer and musical than later pressings.  That and the fact that trespass wasn't a huge hit upon release so there simply aren't that many copies of this out there.
Trespass to me always sounded a bit muffled, however the pink label originals are a lot more dynamic and musical.  Listening to this pressing you can really hear the band playing well together.  It sounds really powerful and dynamic and cuts through the fog that afflicts later issues.
This is a very early example.  Matrix numbers are:
CAS 1620 A-2U with the letters '1' at the 9 o'clock position and 'G11' (I think, they're hard to read) at the 3 o'clock position.   CAS 1620 B-2U with the letters '1' at the 9 o'clock position and 'A' at the 3 o'clock position.  

The condition is probably VG / VG+.  It's hard to say because it sounds so much better than later copies.  However there are quiet pops in the background through the much of the album which are audible in the quieter sections.  However to my ear they don't overpower the music and this still outshines a later issue despite the pops.  There are a couple of areas of more significant wear but they are small. The opening of 'Visions of Angels' (side 1, track 3) has 4 'squeaks', the longest no more than half a second long, they are spaced by a revolution of the record so by the time the song gets going they have passed.  On 'Stagnation', (track 1 side 2) there is some just perceptible distortion but it is not bad and doesn't stop this from being probably the best you'll get to hear this record, unless of course you find a better condition pink scroll copy.
Visually the vinyl is nice and shiny with just light surface marks.  The labels are clean and bright with just a few light spindle traces. 
The textured gatefold cover shows the text 'Manufactured and distributed by B&C Records Ltd. 37 Soho Square, London W1 (01 734 3922) which later versions don't have. It also has the text 'printed and made by the E. J. Day Group. London and Bedford.  It is in very good condition with just a small area of wear at the bottom front, which someone before me has tried to cover up.  This is clearly visible in the photograph. The corenrs and spine are in superb condition considering the age. 
The insert is present but is dog-eared along the right hand edge.
This album, as with all my records, is carefully cleaned and vacuum dried on a Loricraft record cleaning machine using L'Art du Son record cleaning fluid. It is then placed in a new poly-lined anti-static inner sleeve and play-tested on a state-of-the-art record playing system.  It may play significantly better than I have graded it on a lower resolution system.
To protect the LP in transit it will be packed in a new cruciform LP mailer with stiffening card inserts. The LP and inner sleeve will be packed outside of the cover to protect against seam splits during transit. Unless requested otherwise I will send all records by 2nd class recorded delivery which has limited insurance.
