Description
On offer here is an absolutely lovely Gentle Giant 'Octopus' LP from 1972 on the UK Vertigo Spiral label.This has to be amongst one of the very best Prog albums from the golden age of the early 1970s and an array of fantastic instrumentation and vocals come bursting out of the speakers.Criminally overlooked at the time,this superb album is now gaining the interest and attention that it always deserved.Firstly,i must point out that this particular copy came in a plain polylined inner sleeve and not an inner-spiral sleeve,but the outer sleeve is in excellent condition(it is a gatefold) and has the barest minimum sign of any creasing and wear and is not much different from the day it was purchased.There is a small price sticker in the top right-hand corner. The labels of the vinyl are clean and bright,which brings me on to the vinyl,itself,and i will be as honest and accurate as i can possibly be,as i realise this is an album that can attract high bidding.Visually,the vinyl still looks stunning,but there is a little underlying crackle at times,but because of the power of the music,this is only noticable mainly between tracks and during very quiet pieces,However,at no time does it prevent the clarity,sharpness and power of the instrumentation and vocals shining through,and the variance of these makes this a classic.The faint crackle is only heard at times and the ejection of the record on both sides of the record at the end is a little noisy,but,of course,this is after all the music has finished.That's about as honest as i can be,but so no potential buyer is disappointed,i am going to grade the vinyl as VG+.It probably deserves more.In summary:

The V in the matrix shown is actually a diamond shape.On both sides an 04 is also opposite the matrix.
