"Breedlove" b/w "Sand Bars Alone" 7"
In the early 80s, Geoff Landers ran a recording studio in Denver called Packing House Studio -- not surprisingly, it was located in the old slaughterhouse district. Geoff lived there, recorded himself and other bands there, and put on shows there as well (one of the most memorable that I attended was Whitehouse, the UK Industrial/Noise band -- that night was the first time I ever used ear-plugs during a show!).Geoff put out two lp's (both of which were on 'Cauhaus - A Wholly Dis-Owned Entertainment Subsidiary Of Local Anesthetic Records' -- Local Anesthetic being the label I ran through Wax Trax (Denver).
This single is from 1984 and is new and unplayed having sat on a shelf in the basement here at Wax Trax for the last 22 years. Check the pic of the label below -- it is a pun on 'Bauhaus' -- playing on both the seminal Goth band and on the German school of style from the early part of the 20th century; and of course on the 'cow house / packing house' setting.
I'm not sure what Geoff is up to these days but here's a photo I took of him when he brought copies of his first record in for sale at Wax Trax (1982?):
