Description

Apologies to watchers & bidders on the previous listing. I foolishly left the box open and it was carelessly tidied away, so that when I picked it up again the box became two pieces. I've lightly glued the spine so that it opens as before but it is very fragile. It could be made good, and fairly permanent, with some book binding, but I don't have any and you might prefer it in its orginal state. Please bear this in mind and please see the final two pictures. Otherwise, it's as you were.....
George Harrison's 'All Things Must Pass' 3 LP box set. I was having, yet another, sort through the vinyl vaults and discovered this little gem by 'the quiet one' stashed away. This copy is very tidy indeed; actually it's remarkably good, for a 50 year old record! Details as follows:-
All the records have a 1U matrix, plus, as far as I can see, the following info in the runout grooves.
YEX 817 1-U - 2   L     -  Condition: Very good - a feint tick on 'Wah Wah' YEX 818 1-U - 2   PO  -  Condition: Very good but there's a scratch on 'Behind That Closed Door' that causes a brief tick - plays through fine.  YEX 819 1-U - 1   LL   -  Condition: Very good, feint surface noise between tracks, the odd 1970s anologue crackle - but I'm on headphones.  YEX 820 1-U - 2   OD  -  Condition: Slight crackle on intro 'I Dig Love' otherwise, excellent. YEX 821 1-U - 2   OG  -  Excellent: The odd crackle between tracks, little else.  YEX 822 1-U - 1   P     -  Excellent: The odd crackle between tracks, little else.
Vinyl itself is good and shiny with excellent labels. The first LP has the most marks but nothing really nasty. Audio quality is very good throughout, there is occasional surface noise and surface noise between tracks as you might expect. That said, there are no skips and nothing to really spoil your enjoyment, no loud pops or and only the tics as detailed above. Easy to play and enjoy on the most revealing systems.
All the inners state 'printed in the USA'. Wheras the poster states: 'Printed in the UK'. The poster is excellent and I seriously doubt whether its done more than sit in the box and provide a cushion for the vinyl. The inners all have a tiny split in the bottom and record one has a small tear @ top right. Looks like there's been some sticker removal too. However, overall, the inners are very good.
The box incorporates the text: 'Manufactured by Apple Records Inc 1700 Broadway New York' at the end of the credits. It's the narrower version box with the bright orange base and it's been well looked after with the hinge intact and the text on the spine looking nice and sharp. The cover looks to have had a sticker removed but the text is good and the back is in really great shape too.
Very collectible version that you might want to hold onto. The 50th anniversary is coming up and really tidy original examples like this are getting scarce.
