Description

This is from my personal collection. It is the very much sought after first pressing from 1978. There were three variations of sleeve: Red, Yellow and Goldenrod. This is the Goldenrod version. There were many re issues over the years which is testament to the bands longevity.
Provenance is key. It just wasn't available in the UK. Pressing numbers vary but reckoned to be in the region of 1500.
I met Chuck Wagon of the Dickies after a gig in 1978. We exchanged addresses and corresponded over the next few years. When they were over on tour we'd meet up for a few beers. Pre Internet, the only way was by mail. We started to exchange singles as well. He sent me this and a single from Black Randy and the Metro Squad. He spoke highly of the Germs. This was probably early 1979 as we met up at the infamous Loch Lomond Bear Park Festival, where the Dickies played alongside The Stranglers and The Skids. That was May 1979.
We sort of lost touch late 1980 and out of the blue I got a letter from his mum, in 1981, saying he had ended his own life and she was writing to all his fan letters to thank them for being a friend. Kinda humbling.
Anyway ,
sleeve is very good +. No marks, no creases, no signs of ageing.
vinyl also very good +. Played once or twice and then stored in record protector.
A chance to buy a bit of Punk History.
