Description
- Very hard to find 1952 self-titled LP by the “Gerry Mulligan Quartet” (Pacific Jazz PJLP-1).
- This 10 inch classic was the first LP issued by the Pacific Jazz label.
- The quartet consisted of Gerry Mulligan (baritone sax), Chet Baker (trumpet), Chico Hamilton (drums) and Bob Whitlock (bass).
- The tracklist is: Bernie’s Tune/Walkin’ Shoes/Nights At The Turntable/Lullaby Of The Leaves/Frenesi/Freeway/Soft Shoe/Aren’t You Glad You’re You.
- I was very pleasantly surprised how well this LP played with crisp, clear performances. There are a few scratches and sleeve scuffs but they turned out to be fairly superficial and did not distract greatly from the playback. You should expect some surface noise and a tic now and then but it is never overwhelming. The labels are near mint. The front and back cover graphics and liner notes show light wear and a crease in one corner. The seams show more wear and have been reinforced at the cover opening with archival quality acid free clear tape.
- NO reserve. I ship worldwide and will combine winning bids to save on postage (check out my other items!).
- In the US, the winning bidder pays choice of media mail ($4.00) or priority shipping (based on ZIP code). Airmail shipping and handling to Canada is $8.00. All other locations outside the US are $15.00. Good luck!
