What can you say about this sprawling, incredible (mostly) live set..


Heavy hitters It’s Your World and The Bottle round out each side but for my $, the 12 minute Home Is Where The Hatred Is version is the gem here.. The most poignant description of addiction maybe ever recorded (Little later covered nicely by Esther Phillips).

A perfect time capsule of the tumultuous politricks nixon period in the early 70s, coming out of the post civil rights era and fervor of the 60s into a darker more depressed reality of poverty, drugs flooded into neighborhoods and assassinations.
