Ginette Neveu : Sibelius - Violin Concerto in D Minor/Suk - Four Pieces - HMV ALP 1479 Mono

At age 16, Ginette Neveu achieved worldwide celebrity status when she won the Henryk Wieniawski Violin Competition over 180 contestants, including the future virtuoso David Oistrakh, who finished second, and Henri Temianka, who finished third

Noted for her intensity, power, and impeccable sonority, Ginette Neveu is recognized as one of the great violinists of her era despite her young age at the time her career was ended tragically when she died in a plane crash in 1949 age 28. Her Stradevarius survided unscathed and was found in its case

This is an impressive copy of this much sought after recording

The vinyl is in fine condition, no marks or scratches and appears to have been little played

Side one plays beautifully, some occasional static, EX+. Side two plays about EX with light surface nothing serious

Matrix numbers XAX 460-1N, XAX 461-1N

The original fully laminated scalloped flipback sleeve has some laminate lifting around the opening front edge, but is otherwise in fine condition with a clear bold pinched spine and no graffiti

The record comes with the original poly lined inner sleeve which is very clean with a little creasing

Records are posted in pizza box type packets by Royal Mail Special delivery or courier delivery can be arranged
