Ginger Baker’s Air force – Air Force 2 – 1970 – After being in the world’s first supergroup, the power trio Cream and the short-lived Blind Faith, Ginger Baker formed his own band and went off in about ten different musical directions. This second album release follows hot on the heels of a double album in the same year.   Heavy rhythms, saxophones, percussionists, singers, Denny Laine, Grahame Bond (the English jazz guy, not Aunty Jack) and of course, Baker’s superlative drumming. Before fusion, before Afro rock, before world music, there was Ginger Baker’s Air Force playing an amalgam of all those styles when they didn’t yet have a name.  Another great record from Baker.
