Gioconda De Vito – unaccompanied Bach HMV DB 6632/3

Description

Original HMV 78rpm set of De Vito playing the Bach Chaconne from 1947. This is a rare set, but DB 6633 has a small edge chip, which has resulted in a non-sounding hair crack of about 4cm in length. This does not sound when played electrically with a .25 diamond [I've checked it] but obviously reduces the value of the set. However, the condition of both discs is otherwise near mint.

Note - I have just played side 4 acoustically on my EMG with a thorn and it does tick slightly for about 1cm. Does not tick on side 3 - does not sound when played electrically.
