Description
Extremely rare and long out of print. This is the original and only REAL pressing of the Godsmack self -titled album. This is NOT knock off that has been circulating on ebay.
Godsmack - Self Titled OG first vinyl pressing DOUBLE LP PICTURE DISC. Released in 2007
I did a full album complete PLAY TEST on a high end Technics SL-1200MK7 turntable. All turntables/needles (stylus) may sound/play differently but this should give you the most accurate idea of the audio quality. There are no skips on either of the LP's.
Vinyl 1 - The audio sounds excellent, especially for a picture disc, which traditionally do not have great audio quality. There is slightest bit of "crackling" (surface noise) at the very beginning of Side A - Track 1 but once the music starts it sounds excellent. Both sides play through with no skips or noticeable audio issues.
Vinyl 2 - The audio sounds excellent throughout both sides with no skips or noticeable audio issues.
The jacket is still in its original shrink wrap. It was sliced along the jacket opening to remove the record. The jacket itself is in excellent condition. There is the tiniest bit of wear/ding to the corners on the back side, NM- or Excellent+. Check out the video and the photos to get a solid idea of the jacket's condition. The last 4 photos are of all four corners on the back of the jacket.
I regrettably unsealed the record many years ago because I really wanted to see what the picture discs looked like. I immediately regretted opening it and put it back in the jacket and never played it. There are a couple of very light surface marks on the discs that do not affect play whatsoever, probably from rubbing against the paper inner sleeves during storage for all these years. Nothing major, no deep scratches or anything like that. The b side of disc 1 has one hair line surface mark that is several inches. I only noticed it when I was holding it under a bright light and really thoroughly inspecting it. Overall, its EXCELLENT condition. I have removed the discs from the paper inner sleeves and placed them in high quality "Invest in Vinyl" rice paper inner sleeves to prevent any rubbing against the paper inner sleeves during shipping.
Check out my other items. I have many rare or original first issue 90's and 2000's records for sale.
*Most sellers either give a very general visual grading or a vague description. I do my best to be as thorough as possible and describe things in great detail. I am extremely picky and I realize sometimes this makes things sound worse than they actually are, but I believe that a buyer should not be disappointed when they receive a used album. They should have an appropriate expectation and deserve as much detail as possible before making a decision. Please contact me with and questions that you may have prior to purchase.*
