Amazing copy of the band’s first UK album with that great psychy side long version of the title track, shorter heavier tracks on side one which are fine but it’s that long track you want this for. Pretty rare in any condition, later Polydor pressings are fairly common but the original UK pressings are very hard to find so when a copy as good as this comes along, well, it’ll be a long time before you have another chance at one this good.

Sleeve:

As good as you could hope for. It’s a good quality late sixties single sleeve made of thickish card by Moore and Matthes and laminated on the front only.

The front is just beautiful, it’s really hard to find anything negative to say about it, it’s extremely clean with no tears or writing anywhere, there are a couple of tiny creases coming in from the spine and at some stage there’s been a tiny (about half the size of the nail on your little finger) sticker in the top left corner which has left a tiny tiny amount of bubbling when it was removed, apart from that perfect!

The rear is as good if not better than the front, it’s unlamented but extremely clean with no tears, writing or creases anywhere and surprisingly for a black and white sleeve no dirty marks either, the white parts are still white, not yellowing with age, this is just perfect.

The spine is thick, clean and wide and totally unworn with all of the writing clearly readable.

The top seam is totally unworn.

The bottom seam is also totally unworn.

Record:

Totally mint, in fact it looks unplayed, amazing for a record of this age. It’s good quality thickish vinyl which is extremely clean and seriously does look unplayed, it has a lovely dark sheen and under normal light there are no surface marks visible at all. When held under a very harsh lamp again there are no visible marks to report, not even any of the very light hairline marks caused by taking the record in and out of the sleeve, how I wish all of my records looked like this!

The two labels are simply perfect, extremely clean with no writing, tears or stickers and no hint of any spindle wear. The matrix numbers in the run off grooves are SMLP65 A1L 7 & B1L.

When played the disc easily lives up to it’s high visual standards with a clear clean sound that just leaps from the speakers despite the rather grungy production. There is no hint of anything resembling distortion or groovewear, this is obviously a record that has been played very little and has been very well cared for. There is no surface noise evident at all for the full length of the record and I honestly can’t imagine you’re ever going to find a better copy than this, don’t miss it!
