Description
This is Camembert Electrique by Gong - their first album. The album was first released in France in 1971. However, this is the first UK release, which was on the Virgin label in 1974. This appears to be the first pressing of the album, judging by the runouts which are VC 1505 (barred) 502 A-1U Pierre and VC 1505 (barred) 502 B-1U NORMALE. I have owned the album from new, and it has rarely been played - and only on a very good system.
The LP itself is in excellent condition. I have played it through today - there are a few static pops and crackles, but nothing serious. It does have some surface noise, but that must have been there from new. It is unmarked, and the white Virgin label is clean and fresh.
The cover is also in excellent condition; it has been kept in a plastic cover for its whole life. It's not made with particularly strong cardboard, and so there are some minor creases to the edges and one on the front. There is no sign of any disc wear or usage wear, which is quite impressive for a black cover. The glue has failed on the top and bottom, so the album cover is coming apart, but it can be easily repaired. That's something I'm leaving to you, the buyer, to deal with.
This is as good a copy of this LP as you could expect to obtain. I have tried to describe it as accurately as possible, but if you have any further questions, please feel free to ask. And don't forget - free p&p in the UK - the price above, or the offer I accept, is all you pay.
