Description

Here's a virtually new copy of this very limited release of Dick's Picks Volume 5, the stupendous 12/26/79 show from the Oakland Auditorium in Oakland, CA, the first show of the New Year's Eve run that year. This was the end of the first year of Brent Mydland's tenure in the doomed keyboard spot in the band, and fifty some shows in, he's definitely got his chops. This show is an absolute scorcher. The first set is fairly standard for that year, but it's the second set that's wicked: Uncle John's --> Estimated --> Jam --> He's Gone --> Other One --> Drums --> Jam --> NFA --> Brokedown --> Round and Round --> Johnny B. Goode. Encore of Shakedown and the finale of Uncle John's. Wow!

This is the five LP set that was issued in 2013. Each of the five records comes in a high quality sleeve, which itself is in a cardboard sleeve (see pics) which feature the tracks contained inside and an image of the original tape box. All is contained in a box with the Dick's Picks labeling.

This limited release of only 1,500 copies is hand numbered #1342.
