Description
Here’s a great mono copy of Lee Morgan’s 1966 masterpiece Search for the New Land, Blue Note BLP 4169. Some of Morgan’s best compositions, and certainly some of the best playing of his career, can be found on this record.
The condition of the vinyl is graded VG++/EX. It has been ultrasonically cleaned, so it is bright and shiny and plays without clicks pops or snaps. A few stray cosmetic marks from age do not affect play. “VAN GELDER” stamps are in the deadwax.
The condition of the cover, on the other hand, is graded G. Each side of the cover is in very good condition, but the bottom of each side has significant water damage and the cardboard is flaking off. See photos. That’s why it’s graded G. Otherwise, the cover is intact with strong seams and the spine and title are solid and fully legible.
If you can look past the water damage, you will have a great copy of a very rare and very desirable Lee Morgan record.
