Description
This is a part of my big auction Rockabilly/Country & Early Rock N' Roll 7" 45's. I have records from Specialty, Roulette, Dot and several really small labels up for sale this week. Release: June August – Hip Kitty To Bopper / What Is My Birthday
Format: 45 rpm 7" single
Year: 1959
Notes: White label promo first pressing (the standard label was red). This is one of just two recorded released by August and the Groovie label itself. The A-side is an answer song to Chantilly Lace and is a real stomper - not truly rockabilly but with that same flair. B-side is a little more on the pop side, but still a good track. Tough to find record.
Vinyl Condition: VG, vinyl itself is in great shape with basically no physical wear, but does have some visible, cosmetic hazing. It sounds great with no skips/ticks/bumps, plays with hardly any background noise at all. Labels have some damage due to humidity or liquid exposure. Great player copy that I'm bumping down to VG for label cosmetics.
