Group Doueh- Guitar Music from the Western Sahara, released by Sublime Frequencies (SF030LP) in 2006.  Made in the U.S.

*If you are looking at this, you probably already know that Group Doueh's Rare debut LP likely represents the rawest and most remarkable music found in the modern world today.  The groups' styles mixes traditional Sahrawi music of the disputed Western Sahara region with blistering psych/punk brilliance, led by the electric guitar prodigy Doueh.  This isn't the type of "world music" found at Border's (i.e. -an over-produced Tinarwien), this is the real-deal, intense, raw, ethnic music of the culturally-miscegenated world today at its absolute best.  Sublime Frequencies is likely the only record label today that releases nothing but jaw-dropping material, and this is likely the label's finest release.  This Group Doueh LP was their first release on the vinyl format, a one-time limited pressing of 1,000.  Needless to say, this LP sold out in a matter of a few days and truly became an instant collector's item overnight.  Group Doueh just finished a very rare European tour with fellow Sublime... artist Omar Souleyman and also just released their 2nd LP, which is already sold out. 

From the Sublime Frequencies website: "Doueh says he’s Influenced by western pop and rock music especially Jimi Hendrix and James Brown. His sound is distorted, loud and unhinged with an impressive display of virtuosity and style only known in this part of the world. His wife Halima and friend Bashiri are the two vocalists in the group. Saharawi songs are from the sung poetry of the Hassania language. The music is based on the same modal structure as Mauritanian music, however, Doueh’s style is a looser appropriation infused with a western guitar scope, one that relies, in his words, as much on Hendrix as it does traditional Sahrawi music."  *

The thick Vinyl is visually-graded in VG+ condition. When looked at under a bright light, the record shows a very rich luster and a few, incredibly light surface marks.

The Gatefold Cover is graded in VG+ condition, just showing some incredibly minor edge wear.

Shipping is calculated by ebay at the actual cost for you, the consumer. I don't charge any extra fees for material or handling.

For combined shipping, please add $1 for each additional LP you purchase. If you buy many records from me, I can ship them all together in one box, and charge you the actual cost I pay at the post office.
