Description
Here it is folks, an original 1987 Guns N’ Roses debut album “Appetite For Destruction”… My record collection spans over 50 years, buying my first album in 1975 at the age of 11. I bought this album in 1987 at Tower Records the day it hit the record stores while stationed in San Diego and most don’t know the history of this particular album. One week after buying this album I went back to Tower Records for my weekly shopping and every Guns N’ Roses album “Appetite For Destruction” had been pulled from the shelves at every record store across the country. The year was 1987, and women’s groups across the country and American society was not ready for an album cover that depicted a robot tearing the clothes off of a woman. No record store across the country would stock or sell this particular album until the album cover was changed, and that’s how the cross and sculls became the new cover. I am the original owner of this album and though it is used, meaning that I opened it, it is in near mint condition and has had a plastic slip cover over the album and changed out over the years since 1987. This particular album and controversial cover is part of music history, if you’re a record collector you know it’s a rare find. Don’t miss out…..
