Description
HANK WILLIAMS 78 on STERLING 210. As Is
Hank Williams & his Drifting Cowboys: Honky Tonkin’/ Pan American: Sterling 210, recorded Feb. 1947. This record is a country and rock artifact par excellence. Sterling Honky Tonkin’ is a different version from MGM. IMPORTANT NOTE: this has a light/tight hairline crack and a potential other crack, NEITHER OF WHICH AFFECT PLAY. Too light to be seen in the scan; the larger is at about 9 o'clock on the "Honky Tonkin'" side, and goes from the edge to the outside of the label. The smaller is 2-3" at about 7 o'clock. Condition is VG+ ("E to E+") or better in appearance otherwise; very glossy, only a few superficial marks; no feelies. ANY SPOTS OR SPECKS ARE ON THE SCANNER, NOT THE RECORD. White lines around the center hole of "Pan American" are much less pronounced when record is held in hand. Play grade is more like VG, due to the nature of Sterling’s pressing quality. I know someone will ask for the matrix numbers; they are 208-B & 210-B. This should go through the mail OK; record will be very well insulated and packed. US winner add $5 for safe double-boxed media rate mail, insurance at Post Office rates; foreign customers will have to pay more postage – I can’t give exact amounts until the box is sealed and addressed, but expect around $15 for airmail to many countries. Also see my other auctions; combine winnings and save on postage. Please also see if my affiliated seller - sharpe_books – has anything on auction
