Condizioni : la copertina, laminata su ambedue i lati, mostra  alcuni piccoli sollevamenti della pellicola specialmente nel bordo inferiore del lato sinistro che rivela anche una modesta ammaccatura nell'angolo. Inoltre ci sono alcune grinze e un pò di ring wear; bello stato, EX / il vinile presenta alcuni leggeri segnetti soprattutto nel secondo lato che non condizionano l'ottimale ascolto fatta eccezione per pochi lievi clicchettii; grande stato, EX+

Condition : laminated cover on both sides shows some small wrap lifts especially in the lower edge of the left side which also reveals a tiny bump on the corner. In addition, there are some creases and a bit of ring wear, EX / vinyl has some light scuffs particularly in the second side which do not affect listening except for a few minor clicks, EX+

GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Copertine e vinili sono visualmente gradati dopo un’attenta osservazione sotto la luce del sole fatta sulla mia terrazza a tetto. Nelle giornate grigie vengono controllati sotto una forte lampada alogena con l’aiuto di una lente d’ingrandimento. Tutti i 33 giri in asta sono stati interamente ascoltati su un giradischi Rega Planar 3 fornito di una testina a magnete mobile Grado Statement 1. Per EP e singoli a 45 giri utilizzo un Thorens TD 166 BC con testina, sempre MM, Goldring 1006. Ritenendo che le abituali classificazioni quali Mint, Ex, Vg, ecc., ecc… siano poco significative per spiegare le reali condizioni dei dischi ed anche estremamente soggettive, precedo sempre tali classificazioni con una breve descrizione degli eventuali difetti che ho riscontrato, ad eccezione di Mint- che il più alto grado che conferisco a qualsiasi disco. Soltanto per le copie ancora sigillate all’origine utilizzo MINT/MINT.

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All LPs in auction have been fully heard on a Rega Planar 3 turntable with a Grado Statement 1 moving magnet cartridge. I listen EPs and singles 45 rpm. on a Thorens TD 166 BC turntable with a Goldring 1006 MM cartridge. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Note : film che documenta i Campionati del mondo di surf svoltisi a Bells Beach, Victoria, Australia nel 1970. La colonna sonora fu composta da tre dotati musicisti, ognuno con differenti concezioni musicali. Hans Sven Poulsen è raffinato cantautore e ben lo dimostra nei quattro brani da lui composti e cantati (a1, b1, b4 e b7). In particolare menziono il tema d'apertura del film "Getting Back to Nothing" (a1), piacevolissima ballata per niente mielosa accompagnata da un'ottima chitarra e "Surf's Up" (b1) con sonorità surf rock. Bruce Woodley, uno dei fondatori del gruppo The Seekers, offre tre brani strumentali (a3, a5, b5) di sapore folk pop - molto interessante "Setting the Tempos" (a5) caratterizzata da ritmica sincopata con una chitarra molto virtuosa - e una canzone allegra di sapore retrò (b3). Infine Billy Green: ottimo chitarrista rhythm'n'blues oltre che valido compositore rock prima del suo passaggio al jazz nella seconda metà degli anni settanta. Tra i suoi brani: "Bell's Beach Stomp" (a4) ottimamente cantata da Mike Brady su una ritmica veloce sottolineata da chitarra e basso. "Soul Surfing" (b2) brano sofisticato con pianoforte ed effetti sonori inframezzato dalla voce di uno dei campioni di surf presenti nel film. Anche in altre tracce troviamo le voci di alcuni grandi surfisti come Midget Farelly, Nat Young, Michael Petersen....

Notes : film documenting the 1970 World Surfing Championships held at Bells Beach, Victoria, Australia. The soundtrack was composed by three gifted musicians, each with different musical concepts. Hans Sven Poulsen is a refined songwriter and well proves it in the four tracks he composed and sung (a1, b1, b4 and b7). In particular I mention the movie opening theme "Getting Back to Nothing" (a1), a very pleasant and at all syrupy ballad accompanied by an excellent guitar and "Surf's Up" (b1) with surf rock sonorities. Bruce Woodley, a founding member of the group The Seekers, provides three instrumental tracks (a3, a5, b5) from pop folk music - it is very interesting "Setting the Tempos" (a5) characterized by syncopated rhythm with a stunning guitar - and a cheerful song with retro flavor (b3). Last but not least Billy Green: great rhythm'n'blues guitarist as well as excellent rock composer before his passage to jazz in the second half of the seventies. Among his tracks: "Bell's Beach Stomp" (a4) very well sung by Mike Brady on a fast rhythm highlighted by guitar and bass. "Soul Surfing" (b2) sophisticated tune with piano and sound effects interspersed by the voice of one of the surfing champions in the film. Even in other tracks there are the voices of several great surfers as Midget Farelly, Nat Young, Michael Petersen ....
