HARD MEAT s/t TOP! 1970 UK Warner Bros Hard Acid Psych Rock lp M-

1970/UK/Warner Bros. Records WS 1852….. here's a clean original UK pressing of their rare first lp. The fragile gatefold cover is in clean solid condition with light corner dings/wear, light shelf/ring wear, light creases lower left side, more noticeable on the back, otherwise the cover is solid and clean with no splits or delete. The vinyl is in Excellent condition. The record is clean and glossy with a handful of super light inaudible hairline scuffs caused from the inner sleeve. The record plays clean with light occasional noise, mainly between the odd track. The record plays with clean fidelity. The labels are clean with one having a couple of light spindle marks. A sweet copy of this rare original UK pressing! This trio were among many outfits who, in the late 60s, ‘got it together in the country’ - in their case, the wilds of Cornwall. To make ends meet, guitarist Michael Dolan, his bass-plucking brother Steve - with whom he shared both vocals and a Birmingham upbringing - and drummer Mick Carless took on a summer residency as the Ebony Combo at Bude’s Headland Pavilion before assuming their genital moniker in 1969. By then, they had cultivated a faintly sinister ‘stoned hippie’ image, and their repertoire hinged on originals of ‘progressive’ rock plus reinventions of works by Bob Dylan (‘Most Likely You Go Your Way (And I’ll Go Mine)’) and Richie Havens. After amassing an extensive work schedule they were signed to Warner Brothers Records for whom they recorded two albums and a single - an arrangement of the Beatles’ ‘Rain’ - before disbanding in 1971. Two years later, Steve Dolan was among the cast on Pete Sinfield’s Under The Sky.

GRADING

MINT: I consider New Unplayed or Sealed items only.

M- or Mint Minus, very clean with clean visual appearance and sound, there may be a couple of light inaudible hairline scuffs or such and will be mentioned in the listing, a Mint- record looks and plays very clean. Same for the cover. Very clean with no delete or other issues.

EXCELLENT: still very collectable for most, visually and sonicly clean. A handful of light inaudible scuffs, or hairlines. Cover will be clean with little wear, or delete. No splits.

VG++ still a very nice copy with minimal wear, the vinyl will retain it's original gloss and can have some minor scuffs/scratches that don't affect play very much. Cover will have slight shelf wear, and or delete, minor split.

VG+ the vinyl will still retain much original gloss with a bit more scuffs and/or scratches I may list a very rare or desirable item with a lower grade, I will try to list all defects.
