The record features avant-garde compositions by composers such as Christopher Hobbs (of AMM & Scratch Orchestra fame), Harold Budd(known for his collaborations with Albert Ayler and Brian Eno, Barney Childs, while the pieces are performed by Marty Walker in a style reminding Eric Dolphy or Anthony Braxton.

Christopher Hobbs was born in Uxbridge, Middlesex, on September 9th 1950. After 3 years as a Junior Exhibitioner at Trinity College of Music, where he studied piano and bassoon, he went to the Royal Academy of Music, where his tutors were Cornelius Cardew (composition) and Patricia Brady (percussion). In 1968 he founded the Experimental Music Catalogue, a publishing venture aimed at disseminating scores by young composers, and joined AMM music, an improvisation group with whom he played for some 3 years. He also participated in the early days of the Scratch Orchestra and gave concerts of experimental music in England and on the continent with Cardew, Gavin Bryars, John Tilbury, Christian Wolff and others. Since 1971 he has played in various West End musicals and has given many concerts with John White as a percussion (and latterly piano) duo.

Harold Budd has more than 30 solo recordings and collaborations to his credit, from solo piano pieces to densely orchestrated compositions.
Born in Los Angeles May 24, 1936, his love of jazz (he briefly played drums with saxophonist Albert Ayler while serving in the Army) led Harold to get a degree in music composition. He released his first record, the Coltrane-inspired The Pavilion of Dreams, on Brian Eno's Obscure label in 1978 and is still musically active today.

The composers on this record were contemporaries with composers like Henry Jacobs, Lejaren Hiller and of course Henk Badings, David Tudor, Tom Dissevelt, Tod Dockstader, Herbert Eimert, Gottfried Michael Koenig, also the musique concrete school of Pierre Henry, Pierre Schaeffer. It seems that although today their work is pretty uknown, they were appreciated and influenced vastly a big number mainly of american composers, such as Udo Kasemets, Roger Reynolds, Charles Amirkhanian and of course Jon Appleton, Ruth Anderson, Ilhan Mimaroglu, Larry Austin, while also they could have influenced Jerry Hunt, Bulent Arel, Daria Semengen, Glenn Branca, Bruce Haack, Phil Niblock and why not Joseph Celli, Joel Chadabe, Charlemagne Palestine, Noah Creshevsky, Charles Dodge, David Cope and Dub Taylor. 

Cover and vinyl lie in absolutely mint/new condition, this one was bought sealed(and the shrink wrap is still on!), i just opened and played the record once!! It's like if you bought it new!! ...impossible to find in any condition!!
